Street art Pictures
Law of 29 July 1881. Who has never seen it with its sacrosanct legal notice: “Forbidden to display”. But the voiceless poets override the prohibition. They change the city. Painters without canvases, they are too small to accommodate their dreams, so they have chosen larger surfaces. Using spray cans as paintbrushes, they have made the walls and towers of buildings their megaphones. They ask us about the state of the world. Everywhere, slogans, posters, stencils and collages denounce a consumerist society dominated by the reign of money and the individualism of men. Creativity on the edge, they create beauty where there is none. With a lot of colours, sometimes humour and often art, they invite us to look at the world in a different way. Modestly, photographing their works, I tried to pay tribute to these artists, known or unknown. The street, its passers-by and my patience did the rest to obtain photos of often unusual street scenes. Unusual because the interactions between tags and passers-by are not the norm. Whether absurd, funny, sad or moving, these photos capture the decisive moment that transforms the ordinary life.
