Paris : Taulé, Interior

Preview

Three exhibitions are simultaneously held in Paris around the work of the Spanish artist Antoni Taulé. While the Instituto Cervantes and the Boa gallery both present a selection of his paintings on the theme “Interior”, the PHOTO12 gallery presents a selection of the author’s photographs, mostly unpublished.

Having studied architecture, Antoni Taulé imagines and captures indoor scenes where the light builds space and time. Exploring the paradoxes between shadow and light, interior and exterior, presence and absence, he gives us to see spaces plunged in obscurity, from which emanate a light beam illuminating sometimes a solitary figure, another time, a lone piece of furniture. His works oscillate between blurred image and real image, freezing the existential moment. At once painter and photographer, Antoni Taulé interrogates the limits and the points of convergence of these two mediums.
