Paris: Ecole nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière

Preview

2012 will be an important year for the Ecole nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière. This school dedicated to the arts of cinema, photography and sound engineering will soon relocate to the Cité Européenne du Cinéma. The Cité is an ambitious project undertaken by the French film director with the aim of creating a cinematic hub in the suburbs of Paris, comparable to Cinecittà in Rome, Pinewood in London and Tōhō in Japan. The ENS Louis Lumière will be the center of the new complex, reuniting all of the cinematic crafts under one roof.

Founded in 1924 and opened in 1926 at the suggestion of cinema pioneers Louis Lumière and Léon Gaumont, the school has seen an increasing number of students enroll in their photography program.
