An event embraced by human suffering is seen by many. The facts, reports, the posts, the acts of human kindness, the acts of avarice all conjoined in a single complex temporal conversation. But is tragedy understood, or a headline? Is it a type of cryptography? An attempt to mask the tragedies of everyday life.
Tragedy is a cyclical process, a constant state of existence that freely transmogrifies itself into a plethora of temporal forms. Disjointed moments? A crisis? A state that can be repaired? Controlled? Processed? An anthropocentric egoism? This pseudo-religious belief blankets our ability to transcend the silk like effect of a continuum, obfuscating the truth of the human condition , our very fragility of our finitude. In our haste like attempt to deny this reality we escape into language games, using the tools of our invention. It is this refusal to light up a Fractured Tragedy deeply entrenched in everyday life in Greece. This very refusal becomes the basis to rethink, steering wayward from the demoralisation of our actions and the myopic worldview that needs to be overcome to truly understand the significance of an event like the one witnessed in Mati (Area in Greece). It is a new way of seeing through the eyes of an illuminated lens that centres upon the true nature of what is tragedy.
