Open Doors Gallery sent us their new collection, along with this introduction:
Some of us remember the mix tapes. Those albums that got us from A to B. The family anthems that are hummed, drummed and belted out from the back seat. The forever lines of “Are we nearly there yet?” closely followed by the “you should have gone before we left!”. Leaning on the wind with your palm through the window. Or the sudden adjustment your eyes make as you are plunged into the darkness of a tunnel. Streaks of light blurring overhead. The glow of neon lights that occasionally puncture the long dark canvas ahead. Heads resting on shoulders. Bracing for the journey out into adventures to come.
Our new online collection The Road Trip is ready to view online now. We asked our artists to submit work on the theme of road trips and to describe how important these excursions have been for their creative practise over the years. These artworks are now available to view and buy online.
We also asked them to provide us with their 3 most loved tracks when out on these adventures. We took those recommendations and compiled a playlist for you to enjoy on Spotify.
Hopefully our trip will provide you with a slither of escapism in what has been a mad year so far.
