After 10 years of activity as a photographer and 20 spent in the world of images, Céline Andrea has just released her first book. The editor Paul Luro presents it like this!
Here is Céline Andrea’s very first monographic book, edited and published by Normal Magazine (Editions Incarnatio). It brings together on 184 pages, the most artistic work of the artist, her most personal shots far from the fashion campaigns.
The idea was, beyond showing her work, that of presenting all women, all bodies. That perfection is not beautiful, that the faults of each one of them make their identity, aestheticize them and characterize them.
With Céline Andrea, the staging is simple, the light is natural, no superficial artifice, no assistant, no team, not too much interfering, no denaturalization, the woman is pure, simple and absolute, shrouded in a life saving and confidential sphere where a true and sincere bond is forged.
Matter that has been shaped, that is the whole point of this book.
Of marble, clay, or ivory, these anonymous are the material of an artist who seeks to shape them, working to make them visible, authentic and true.
A feminine and realistic point of view on the sculpture of the body and its writing by light.
All of these photos are born from the intimate and the real.
Although Celine sometimes surrounds herself with “muses,” the vast majority of women here are strangers whose fleeting fragment of a captured moment will serve an unshakeable cause: image immortality and time fixation. From this exchange between anonymous and artist was born this complicity and this unique result.
