Nomad Art Collective presents Open Skies, a solo online exhibition of recent photographic work by Carla Sutera Sardo, on view through August 18, 2026.
In Sicily, summer arrives with force. The light is unrelenting, the sea vast and deeply blue. The sky opens wide, pressing down on the land with the same insistence as the heat. The elements demand full presence.
Into this intensity Sutera Sardo brings play. Her figures float beneath the surface of the water and rise through mirrors into the sky. They disappear behind giant flowers and balloons; their tulle brings feminine softness to the season. Their faces dissolve into color, motion, and light. What remains is the body in a state of pure, unguarded joy.
Sutera Sardo finds in the Sicilian summer permission and freedom: to be vivid, playful, alive. Her expansive skies are not backdrops. They are destinations.
Carla Sutera Sardo (Agrigento, 1983) is a self-taught photographer whose work focuses on women and the communication between bodies and landscapes. Her photographs have been published in Vogue Italia, they have received recognition including the Sony World Photography Awards, the Siena International Photography Awards, and the Prix de la Photographie. She has exhibited in London, Paris, Turin, Florence, Palermo, Zhengzhou, Gibellina, and Slovenia.
