Points of light
The photographic corpus points de lumières – l’égalité point is presented as part of a major international activist conference held in Montreal in June 2024 by CAP International. The pictorial initiative is at the heart of a process undertaken by the artist, which brings together a series of multidisciplinary projects whose interventions aim to raise awareness and mobilize public opinion. These images call for continued action, commitment, resistance and persistence to counter violence against women and aspire to an egalitarian, prostitution-free world.
In the darkness of night, the dots on the image symbolize sources of light and a visual path. Each photographic work corresponds to a number that evokes the distance between the eye and the surrounding points of light.
The young woman’s profil is the last photo captured by the artist of his only daughter, who died in 2021. Despite the intensity of the narrative, these images are imbued with serenity, resilience and strength. A tribute project and a stele of remembrance, the large-format photographs (275 cm x 150 cm) unfold in space, suggesting a reflection in which we are allowed to reclaim body and life in absolute freedom.
