At the opening of the Mazaccio & Drowilal exhibition in the Cloître Saint Trophime, the winner of the 2014 BMW Residency was announced. The young English photographer Natasha Caruana was selected by the committee to spend three months in residence at the Musée Nicéphore Niépce in Châlon-sur-Saône. The committee was comprised of François Cheval (Head Curator of the Musée Nicéphore Niépce), François Hébel (Director of the Rencontres d’Arles), Julien Frydman (Director of Paris Photo), Chantal Nedjib (Communications consultant) and Patrick de Carolis (Member of the l’Institut de France).

Caruana will begin her residency this autumn with a grant of 6000 euros. At the end of the three months, her series will be added to the BMW Art & Culture collection published by Éditions Trocadéro. The work will also be exhibited at the 46th edition of the Rencontres d’Arles and at Paris Photo in November 2015, giving her considerable visibility on the international scene.
