To mark the launch of the Jeanloup Sieff’s new book, the Sieff family is exhibiting their work at colette in Paris until November 3. Behind the lens: Jeanloup, the immortal maker of icons; Barbara, his lifelong companion; and Sonia, their daughter, who photographs women in all their beauty and power. And finally Sacha, the family musician, who mixes scraps of interviews, cult tracks and beloved voices.
The exhibition at Colette is the reflection of their family love, embodied by photography: “My father was a craftsman,” says Sacha. “We lived at the back of his shop, a world full of encounters, creation and expertise. We were a simple family, full of love, not always without confrontation but we always listened and were always grateful. My father was a real father, loving and encouraging.”
