Cristinerose Contemporary Art is an art consulting and advisory company based in New York City. We work with corporate, public and private clients both nationally and internationally. We offer extensive knowledge and experience in contemporary art collecting, and have long-standing relationship with artists, galleries, auction houses and curators. We help build, create or expand an art collection by working with our clients and assessing their aesthetics and budgetary objectives. We also assist with the sale and purchase of artworks.
Mariacristina Parravicini, originally from Milan, Italy, opened Cristinerose Gallery in December 1994 in Soho. In September 1997, she moved the gallery to Chelsea. Cristinerose Gallery exhibited painting, photography, sculpture, video, drawing and computer art. As a gallery director, Mariacristina organized exhibitions of established, mid-career as well as young artists whose work was distinguished by quality, enthusiasm, advanced thinking and a unique vision. Over the years, she curated several group shows that received critical acclaim in the press and garnered her an outstanding reputation in the New York art world. Cristinerose Gallery exhibitions were regularly featured in reviews in various publications including The New York Times, Art Forum, Art in America, Flash Art, Time Out, Elle, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Harper’s, Il Giornale dell’Arte, Flash Art, Tema Celeste and others. In addition, the gallery received TV coverage on CNN, ABC, E! and NewYork1. The gallery participated in various art fairs nationally and internationally in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Bologna (Italy), Torino (Italy) and Frankfurt (Germany). Mariacristina Parravicini closed Cristinerose Gallery on December 30, 2008. In January 2009, she launched Cristinerose Contemporary Art, an art consultanting and advisory business. She travels extensively in the United States, Europe and Asia to meet with clients, visit art fairs, attend art auctions, visit artists’ studios and work on curatorial projects. Before opening the gallery, Mariacristina worked as an account executive in the international division of Edelman, a leading independent global PR firm; as a news producer at RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana in New York, the Italian state-owned public service broadcaster (produced segments on politics, culture and arts); at the Drawing Center, as an assistant to the director and did freelance public relations work for various galleries. She is an active supporter of the International Center of Photography, and an Associate Council of the Museum of Modern Art and the Young Collectors Council of the Guggenheim Museum. She speaks fluently English, Italian and French. Mariacristina Parravicini holds a Bachelor of Science from Boston University, a Master of Arts from Pepperdine University and attended post-graduate studies/courses at New York University.
