Free the colors!
“Free the colors!” is poetic license applied to photography.
License by the freedom taken with strict documentary reality to better share the sensations and emotions that led me to press the shutter.
Poetic by the search for a certain counting, a simplicity in the image which makes many of the works presented look like visual haikus.
I leave room for time: if the idea of an image may arise and lead to the shooting, I most often “ruminate” my photos for a long time, in a way by successive “layers of gaze” .
In the field, I like to “listen to the voice of things” to use the beautiful expression of a great mathematician. Subsequently, often months later, a few photographs are the subject of meticulous work on colors, light, contrast, framing, support, which causes the work to evolve in stages, sometimes radically, to lead to the final draw.
