I am fascinated by rural or urban landscapes. I am developing an expressive approach in an ordinary, trivial, but anti- picturesque way. Most of my pictures are uninhabited to avoid anecdotal function of men, ” photographing the places as crime scenes” (E. Atget). I aspire to a bare expression, both descriptive and abstract, narrowing the minimum components of the playing between lines, surfaces, materials, atmospheres, colors and their mix, to discover their structures and models. A simplification of reality by cropping to keep only its main components. “A tunnel vision that excludes much, to see much, in an absolute concentration” (E. Stoller). In the Nature, expressive impact of isolated patterns attracts me : the trees, the muscles of landscape. I thus seeks to put into stage these marks, to isolate them, to give them life in their isolation, to capture the essence of the landscape through its “sentinels”. I work with digital cameras for their versatility. I use the Raw format for its quality. I use wide-angles to accentuate the dynamic of lines, or telephotos to crush the natural perspective.
