The imagery in DESIRE bears witness to a decade-long process resulting in a body of work where memory and emotion collide and space and time collapse. I am a painter who also photographs and reads prolifically. Among my sources, the imagery of Helmut Newton, the expressiveness and jewel tones of El Greco, the drawings of Michelangelo, the journals of Delacroix, and the writings of Rilke inspire me to create my own cinematic story lines that combine fragmented self-portraiture with the written word.
