Multiple realities
How to show a familiar country that we have always known but without knowing it. A country that we reduce to clichés, whose reality escapes us because here more than elsewhere, it is multiple.
Another trip, what are the possible images?
Superimposition, search for blur, multiple exposure, this series questions the link I have with this country, its territory, its inhabitants.
This work is carried out with a digital camera, the overlay is made when shooting by accepting the random result of shifted perspectives and stacked materials.
I also made some montages, where I selected details from these images in order to combine them to obtain a freer photograph where multiplicity prevails over simplicity and sharpness.
It is not a question of trying to understand the complexity of this country. It is a matter of making the experience of complexity perceptible.
Photography allows me to apprehend known places and situations differently. It encourages questioning and brings me to unexpected reflections.
I live and work in Aix en Provence. Trained as a historian, I teach in college.
