Alongside series The Remote Exploit and Jungle Thread, Dunes and Everywhere Bridges, these images belong to a growing body of work around porous and polymorphic entity that quarries represent. Grown up in post-industrial area, those sites got a strong collective unconscious.Visiting them trigger sublime experiences due to the exposure to vastness and its mental associated effects. They have in themselves the aftereffects of a century of industrial intervention over its environnement. Extracted, then discontinued, they are lying now as empty areas where human and natural forces act in a constant interlacing.
Consumed symbolically by the physics of light, photography is a way to approach the world and his multiple states along deep feelings caused by observation of nature and modern ruin fascination. Landscapes reflect on the inner and compile singular sensations. From documentary perspective to will of abstraction, images form a corpus which amplify the real and built fictional instances of personal mythologies. Images perform as bridges. They are a mode of observation to a plural world representation, and a privileged access to its history.
