One portfolio. Jérôme Neutres stayed true to his form. The one portfolio he selected was accompanied by this message: “I thank the Le Journal for existing—otherwise it would be necessary to invent it. That amateur and professional photographers benefit from such an international platform for news, exchanges and discoveries is a wonderful thing. We become photographers by looking at pictures. I personally learned a lot in the past month by browsing dozens of portfolios every week. Long live Le Journal!’’
In November there will be no portfolio selection. Instead, we will ask this year’s twelve jurors to select one portfolio from their selection. At the end of the month, you, the readers, will elect the portfolio of the year. In December, Anne de Mondenard, art historian and curator will select the portfolios. Her latest exhibition Le Cercle de Le Gray is currently on view at the Petit Palais (Paris).
Applicants must send a minimum of 7 images, and a maximum of 15 (1024 pixels, 72 dpi), along with a short text of presentation of their approach to photography also indicating age, nationality, and place of residence.
