Flea market Les Allées …
I took these photos one afternoon in March at the “Brocante Les Allées” in Toulouse.
That day, with the light shining on, all the elements were there to compose with this myriad of trinkets, colors and reflections.
I wanted to build my pictures both as paintings, still lifes, but also as street photos.
On the surface everything seems normal, however, on closer inspection, we see that people are wearing masks … We are in March 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For a few hours, I was able to satisfy my urge to create. Even masked, I was able to detach myself from this anxiety-provoking context, I almost forgot that I had to go home before the curfew.
And I hope that very soon these photos will only be a testament to this period of crisis …
