The photographs of the young Jean Dréville are remarkable for their inventiveness for the modernity of their vision. He creates incredible juxtapositions and superimpositions that prefigure the work of Moï Ver, Man Ray, Kertesz and Rodchenko. Dréville’s photographs taken on film sets show his highly original framing, and his report for the magazine Jazz exudes a striking immediacy. A true innovator.
