Jacques Revon : The story of a moment

Preview

Daix, last Saturday night, May 30th, It is 11.10 p.m., I decided to wait patiently under a Velux, the passage of the SPACE X capsule.

My eyes scan the sky on the west side, and all of a sudden in this cloudless night, at 11:15 p.m. sharp, as predicted by NASA, the DRAGON SPACE X capsule, arises and passes high in its orbit, at 420 klms altitude. I can see it. This luminous point advances very quickly at 27580 km / h, coming from the west, heading towards the south-east: then I shot it.

I set my camera to 8000 ISO, at 1/8 th to see a little trace of its displacement, f 3.2 diaphragm the focal length of my lens is at max = 150mm and the focus at infinity. A few minutes later, I head to my computer impatient to see the result of my shooting and without changing anything, I simply magnify the image as much as possible. The light crossing point is there!

A unique, unforgettable moment that reminded me a little of our childhood dreams, the writings of Jules Vernes or a certain album by Tintin.

I can still see this luminous point moving, this capsule with two American cosmonauts on board, in this cloudless night of May 30th, 2020.
