For its first edition, held last weekend (21-25 September), the festival InCadaqués, in the village of the same name at the foot of the Catalan mountains, proposed for four days a beautiful photo festival. The village became the space for the expression of photographers from all over the world, including Christine Spengler, Lucien Clergue, Tony Keeler, Joan Vehí, Katharine Cooper, Yan Morvan among others. The walls of the city the frame of their images. The emblematic places of the village have become the natural settings of an in-situ scenography. Art galleries, cafés and restaurants, cultural sites have thus federated to host the event. At the same time pedagogical and artistic, InCadaqués has changed day after day in an intimate and festive meeting, where the proximity with the invited artists was at the base of the device. The organizers’ key words: “discover, meet, exchange, share”. This new festival also proposes a new format of event where the dynamic of creation is combined with acquisition. The collection then becomes creation. In this spirit, several meeting places have allowed encounters between photographers and collectors around portfolios, prints, books and original objects. A beautiful discovery.
