During a trip through Africa from 1965 to 1967, Hans Feurer developed a strong passion for photography, which he professionalized step by step. He made his international breakthrough in 1967 and has not stopped traveling since. He shot on the Seychelles many times, not because he loved going there, but because he chose to live on these beautiful islands for several years. Being at home in paradise influenced his work and his sets. One can spot Claudia Schiffer or Christy Turlington enjoying themselves in Feurer’s garden or on the doorsteps of his house, both women looking carefree and feeling at home.
Today, Hans Feurer continues to work as a fashion photographer and has traveled to some of the most remote countries of the world. What keeps him on track is his love for life, and in this case being one of the most famous photographers might be »only« a job—because what really makes Feurer’s eyes sparkle is talking about deep sea fishing. This might be his biggest passion in life.
And in the context of traveling: the photograph taken for »Chesterfield« stockings shows the young up and coming actor Gérard Jugnot looking out of the train’s window at Gare D’Austerlitz in Paris in 1975. Feurer needed some male extras for this shooting, and Jugnot was happy to fill in. Can you spot him?
