My father left me and my two sisters when i was 4. I grew up absent of any brothers or strong male figure in my life.
When i was 14 i was transplanted to the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia. That year in 1984 i began meeting and developing friendships with a group of guys. This group of 9 became my family and my support system.
I can honestly say they saved my life. It has now been 31 years and we are as close today as ever before. I have realized many time over the years what a miracle it is to have connected with such a close and unique set of friends that i can call my brothers.
They all allowed me to do a portrait of them last summer during a gathering.
We have aged and grown , become husbands and fathers. We have watched life change us and weather our faces.
