The latest issue of Camera takes a close look at works at the boundary between photography and cinema. These include photographs that seem to exist in moments suspended between fiction and reality, like in the work of Julien Magre, the guest artist of this issue, of Lise Sarfati and Guillaume Zuili. These may be films that are a succession of still images, as in Chris Marker, Patrick Bokanowski, Hollis Frampton, and Michael Snow. Lastly, there are works harder to pinpoint, which combine different media in order to lose us in time and space, as in the series by Éric Rondepierre and Éric Bottero, or expose us to strange feelings and emotions of a life that never existed.
