Henri Bureau

His friends called him "Nounours" (Teddy). Henri Bureau died the day before yesterday. He was an impetuous, flamboyant, big-mouthed bon vivant. But he was above all a great photographer, a member of the postwar generation that lived, thought and loved photography. He was in a special position to observe the 1960s, '70s and '80s. Two years ago, for the release of his book Bouclage, Bureau's friend Michel Philippot put together a collection of reminiscences, which we're republishing today.
