Happiness is in the field

For the seventh consecutive year, the Association of Local Cheeses (l’Association des Fromages de Terroir) has released its annual calendar, more aggressive than ever, as always devoted to saving the “French cheese heritage”. Association President Véronique Richez-Lerouge refers to the calendar as a “cheesemaker’s provocation to awaken consciousness”.

Photographed again this year by Philippe Serieys, the 12 generously shaped pin up girls with telling names boast the qualities of 12 different raw milk cow, sheep or goat cheeses: camembert, chaource, tome de savoie, etc.

The models recruited to pose for the calendar, for the most part volunteer newcomers, all posed in the authentic setting of the Fontainebleau sheep barn. Perfectly integrated into the images, if occasionally difficult to control, the animals, according to the photographer, participated gluttonously in the making of the calendar that can be purchased for 19€ at http://www.fromages-de-terroirs.com. Sales profits will be donated to the Association to support their efforts to preserve this French heritage.
