The series depicts the transition of this ex-soviet country, from tradition to modernity. Through the strangers passing I met each day and the places I went through, I worked on the contrasts between a still strong attachment to the traditions especially in the most remote zones of the rural South that I visited, as Turkestan, and a rapid transition to modernity as visible in the main cities of the country like in Almaty. It is a still on-going project, started last year in 2014 after an invitation by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, working on the entire territory of Kazakhstan to depict this transition, travelling around all the country and to show all the differences that characterize its huge territory.
