“Gerd Sander has just passed away;
He was August Sander’s grandson.
Gallery owner in New York, I first met Gerd in the late 1970s.
I admired his energy to vigorously promote his grandfather’s work.
Without any real common activity, we remained in contact, unprofessional but very courteous.
He was also a passionate and curious collector.
A moving thought, with the sudden disappearance of this “pioneer” from the market of classic photography. ”
