On the road to regreening
On a March morning, a veil of mist recedes. From a dark grove the white notes of the wild blackthorn blossom. By the side of the path, the solitary shrub is also adorned with its delicate and timid white flowers. The vital impetus contained so far springs from the earth, runs along the paths, foliage, hedges, meadows and undergrowth; all over the vegetation shades of mossy green. It’s the reverdie.
Reverdie was a poetic genre in the Middle Ages celebrating the spring renewal, the rebirth of love. The motifs are greenery, the water of fountains and streams, plants, florals, the edge of the woods.
