Laetitia Lesaffre, photographer and lacquer painter, has been exploring reflection for several years.
In line with the pictorialist current, she seeks to dissolve the boundary between painting and photography.
After meticulously producing her paintings in the pure tradition of lacquer painters, she captures the reflection of her models in the lacquer.
Between composition and spontaneity, between meditation and immediate action, the artist seeks to capture this moment when the subject escapes his image and thus shows another interpretation of the body, of the portrait, of the very essence of the subject.
“The grain, the fuzziness of the painting gives the subject its intimacy. My photographs become impressionistic, they abandon the line to keep only the essence of the subject.” Laetitia Lesaffre
Winner of the Prix Objectif Femmes at the Town Hall of the 9th arrondissement in 2018, she is also committed to defending children in exile and women who are victims of violence, by artistically accompanying people on the path to resilience. Her work on women victims of violence is recognized and supported by the Ministry of Health, Finance and the Council of State.
Her works are exhibited in the High Courts and in particular at the Galerie de la Sainte Chapelle of the High Court of Paris from March 8 to 28.
