The Galerie Cécile Fakhoury presents the exhibition of photographer François-Xavier Gbré.
For this first Parisian exhibition, François-Xavier Gbré presents a new chapter of a long-term research initiated in the early 2010s, which gives the keys to a reading of the history of the economic and urban development of the Côte d’Ivoire.
In this new body of work, the geography and history of Côte d’Ivoire is told through the images and traces of urban centers of power. Between grandeur and decadence, the past and the present mix to create a fresco where intertwined strata of architecture and history dialogue and where the towns of Grand-Bassam, Abidjan or Yamoussoukro appear in turn.
