An Indian odyssey
India captivates, her multi-facetted smiles enhancing the mystery of her incessant visual stimulations. Indian eyes and faces have always fascinated me, direct, ardent, candid, powerful, intimidating, welcoming, kind, impressive: they appeal to me with their piercing and scrutinizing gaze, they take hold of me, overwhelm and subjugate me. I always give in to their charms.
Indian eyes and faces radiate through their colors and textures; they shine, like so many avatars of the same soul, sharing a common essence, Life, modern and dynamic.
Therefore, to photograph them is like undertaking an extraordinary odyssey, unlike any other. Whether out of the ordinary, fugitive, mysterious, untamable, divine, loving, Indian faces and their eyes are landmarks on the geography of my memory.
Here are a few moments when eyes meet, a selection of pictures among the abundance of gifts offered along my street encounters enriching my Indian chronicles. To me, India is home, loving, caring, family.
