Wanted by the biggest magazines, Francis Giacobetti did one shooting after another over the four corners of the world, he entered the world of fashion. His most beautiful collaboration was probably done with stylist Issey Miyake. Succeeding Irving Penn, he has been the official photographer for the fashion designer for over twenty years. The graphic designer and photographer Jean-Paul Goude confesses: There is a Giacobetti’s woman. A suntanned woman, sand covered, on the beach, photographed for men like a little golden roll. Perhaps she’s a duchess or a baker, we don’t know. It’s her femininity that’s emphasized, her beauty, outside of any context.”
