Photography is a big thing for me; It really conveys how I feel. I had a personal rough time, and for some time, I used landscape photography and walks around Paris to rebuilt myself. So when one day I felt the urge to photograph “movement”, I measured the change of mindset and I went for it. I wanted to photograph dancers in motion. Observing a classroom. It was different from my previous projects, I’m quite shy and not used to photograph people. I went a few time to the Marais Dance School in Paris to take shots, with Paul Valery’s words in mind : “Poetry is to prose as Dancing is to walking”. This set of photographs is about grace, fragility, strength and poetry in the simplicity, the intimacy and the severity of a ballet class. A short moment in time and for me a change of tempo.
