Mogarraz
In 1967, a photographer from Mogarraz, a small town in the Sierra de Francia, was commissioned by the mayor to take the photo for the identity card of the 388 inhabitants who lived in the town. The painter Florencio Maíllo, also born in Mogarraz and who was a five-year-old boy at the time, already had access as an adult to these old photographic archives in which, as an artist, he was inspired to reproduce the portraits that can currently be seen on the facades of the houses of this picturesque town in the province of Salamanca (Spain).
With this photographic project, I also want to pay my personal tribute to this city and its inhabitants.
