A large anthological exhibition by Ferdinando Scianna, with 192 images, is opened in the San Domenico Museum of Forlì until the end of January 2019, more than 190 photographs divided into three large bodies, divided into nineteen different themes. This is trying to be this exhibition, a story, a journey in memory. The story of a photographer in more than half a century of photography.
“It may be, at 75, the first major exhibition that corresponds to the idea that I made of photography and my work. It was for me a complex, fascinating and arbitrary journey, through my images, in the memory of my life.
Memory, travel, here are two of the key words of this exhibition and this book, and for me almost synonymous with photography.
The other word is Narration. Without narration there is nothing. ”
Ferdinando Scianna
A book-catalog, published by the Venice publisher Marsilio accompanies the Expo which will be at the Gallery of Modern Art in Palermo from February 2019 and at the Tre Oci Foundation in Venice in September 2019.
The voice of Ferdinando Scianna accompanies the visitors, from room to room, themed in theme, with the stories of the man and the photographer.
