Le Passage Theatre announces the exhibition of photographer Anaïs Boileau.
Like the South
Yes, the end of summer is approaching… But no need to panic: Le Passage invites you to soak up some vitamin D with its new photography exhibition! Nineteen vibrant images will adorn the theatre walls until January 30, 2026. These sun-drenched compositions are the work of Anaïs Boileau, a photographer from Nîmes. Inspired by her Mediterranean childhood, the artist explores light, color, and form to evoke the landscapes of southern France. Guaranteed to evoke strong emotions.
Photography, Sculpture, and Painting
It was in her garden—a true outdoor studio—that Anaïs Boileau conceived “Soleil Brûlant” (Burning Sun). This visual artist assembles plants, objects, and fabrics, then photographs them, revealing them through subtle plays of light and mirrors. The prints are then enhanced with pastel by the artist. Distortion, shadows, and reflections give rise to graphic and colorful compositions, bordering on abstraction. Between painting, photography, and sculpture, the images—some never before shown—of “Soleil Brûlant” dazzle with their beauty.
Exhibition opening with the artist in attendance
A graduate of ECAL (Switzerland) and with a master’s degree in photography from Central Saint Martins (London), Anaïs Boileau alternates between artistic projects and commissioned work for publications such as Le Monde, Libération, Marie Claire, and The Wall Street Journal. Her work has been presented at numerous international events, including the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival (2016), the Thessaloniki Festival (2018), and the Encontros da Imagem Festival (2019). In 2024, Anaïs Boileau was awarded the Grand Commission for Photography, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and entrusted to the French National Library. Join us on Friday, September 19 at 6 PM at Le Passage to meet this brilliant artist.
