Since 1964, the International Photography Fair, created by Jean and André Fage and organized by the Photo Club Paris Val-de-Bièvre with the support of the Municipality of Bièvres, has kept pace with the evolution of photography. Located just 20 km from Paris, it remains a key and well-known gathering for collectors and enthusiasts. The Fair continues to grow and reinvent itself in many ways. Nearly 250 exhibitors take part each year.
Each edition of the Fair features a renowned photographer. FLORE will be the guest of honor at the 2025 Fair. A French-Spanish photographic artist, she lives and works between Paris and her studio in Hauts-de-France. She is represented by the Clémentine de la Féronnière gallery.
Winner of the Nadar Prize in 2020 and the Académie des Beaux-Arts – Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière Prize in 2018, she creates her series over long periods, often during travels.
FLORE will exhibit Les rêveries de Lavinia at the Maison des Photographes et de l’Image.
Before her Aunt Louise’s house was emptied, FLORE discovered a long epistolary exchange with a friend of Italian origin named Lavinia. These letters and the name immediately echoed the eponymous text by George Sand: “I love only travel, reverie, solitude, the noise of the world, to pass through it and laugh, then poetry to bear the past.” FLORE chose to evoke the emotions that ran through this correspondence to create a collection of impressions of Italy and, indirectly, a portrait of Lavinia.
Three markets bring the Fair to life.
The second-hand and antique photography market is a go-to destination for great finds. It offers all kinds of items, from early cameras to Polaroids®, old family or travel photos, photography books, accessories and film gear, vintage film reels, or photography-related advertising objects.
Opening Saturday at 1 p.m., the artists’ market welcomes around a hundred photographers or collectives showcasing a wide range of imagery and styles. Several photography schools will also be exhibiting. On Sunday morning, a jury of photographers—this year chaired by iconographer and photography consultant Alice Santinelli—visits each booth. After deliberation, prestigious prizes are awarded on Sunday afternoon.
The new and services market brings together major camera brands. You’ll also find services and products for analog or historic photographic processes, such as printers and specialty supplies.
Throughout the weekend, the Bièvres Encounters host image specialists. These talks are opportunities to discuss techniques, aesthetics, and photographic publishing.
Activities and book signings will take place, and several photography magazines will be present.
The Bièvres International Photography Fair is one of the largest events in Europe dedicated to all facets of photography.
