Magnum Photos is delighted to announce its first in-person series of events since January 2020.
Join Magnum for a day or the weekend at the new Magnum gallery in Paris for a weekend of portfolio reviews, lectures and discussions on photography. After over a year of online meetings, Magnum is thrilled to organize an event where their photographers will look at photographic work, discuss ideas over coffee, make space for informal discussion during lunchtime, and reconnect with photographers from different horizons and backgrounds. Leading the workshop over the weekend will be Lorenzo Meloni, Cristina de Middel, Sabiha Çimen and Yael Martínez.
Why should I join?
Portfolio reviews are a great opportunity to network and gain professional insight into an ongoing or finished project, whether new or from the archives. They are a perfect opportunity to receive guidance on your ideas and approach, discuss editing and sequencing, and identify your next steps towards figuring out your photographic vision. Reviews leave participants with a fresh perspective and renewed motivation.
Lectures delivered by Magnum photographers encompass subjects ranging from their personal work to their journeys into photography. Attendance of the talks is a thought-provoking and inspiring chance to learn from world-renowned image makers.
The group lunch, coffee breaks and informal discussions will be a wonderful chance to connect in real life – something we haven’t done for a very long time now, but are sorely missing!

Scholarship opportunities
We offer two scholarships to emerging photographers living in Île-de-France aged 35 or under. Please submit a pdf including two stories and a maximum of 25 images as well as a statement explaining how the scholarship will benefit your practice. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
We encourage people from lower socio-economic backgrounds, people from minority ethnic backgrounds, those from the LGBTQ+ community to apply.
