Lët’z Arles presents two exhibitions at the Rencontres d’Arles: Bad News by Pasha Rafiy and On the Other End by Laurianne Bixhain.
The former began with Donald J. Trump’s gracious refusal to be photographed, to which Pasha Rafiy gave a name—bad news—and a function: the starting point of a photographic project. This project is a continuity of his photographic work, which brings together portraits of figures from the world of politics or art, taken in medium format in an environment meticulously selected by the artist. Laurianne Bixhain’s exhibition explores our relationship to technological objects—intermediaries between humans and their environment—their handling and the concepts of mobility and ubiquity. In a spirit of experimentation, using the setting of the Chapelle de la Charité, Laurianne Bixhain creates a dialogue of photographs, extended by a publication designed around correspondences.
Opening: Friday, July 6 from 7:30 pm
Exhibition curators: Paul di Felice and Michèle Walerich.
Produced by Lët’z Arles (Luxembourg).
With support from the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign and european affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the City of Luxembourg.
