“Tuesday, Marseille. It is there, it stands out and yet blends into this urban set of seaside. Blue on gray. On my knees, the boxes are ready. It is with them that we will travel the map and cross the territory. We glide by day and night, from Estaque in the Camargue, from Mount Ventoux to Lake St. Croix. The rain, the reflections of the countryside and the wind order, I take what is given to me, I transform it. Nature imposes. This is how my images are composed of flowers, breath, lightning, silences and elsewhere, encounters. The working hand, a time of humanity. The mountain, light crossings, a bridge too far, misty vegetation, an interlacing of red leaves and the dull and enveloping sound of the road. Each day is unique and brings a lot of sensations that I have to feed and compose. Escape the postcard. I want South, heat, smells and animals. Get out of the frame and reveal what I do not see and yet I feel, this force that surrounds us, this smell from within and this outside world that I see the cabin. I have the funny feeling of living a movement, rolling indefinitely. We have finally arrived at the other end, behind the light, where the horizon stands. » Letizia The Fur
With the Havas Gallery, Alpine creates his photographic carte blanche “Hit the road” in collaboration with Leica. The photographs of Letizia Le Fur’s road trip (laureate of the competition) will be exhibited till January 12th, 2019 at the Gallery of the Leica Store Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris.
Alpine & Leica have launched this summer in France, the first edition of the photographic contest “Hit the Road” for photography enthusiasts. This production gave the winner the opportunity to hit the road for four days with an Alpine A110 and the Leica camera of his/her choice. A carte blanche to express his/her vision of travel and escape.
“HIT THE ROAD” BY ALPINE X LEICA W/ HAVAS GALLERY
Alpine wants to offer another look at automotive photography, a more sensitive and artistic approach. Accompanied by the Havas Gallery, Alpine supports talents – young and old – by offering them help in creating a personal project. Means of production and prestigious spaces are at their disposal so that they can express their creativity. The promotion of their works is also assured internationally.
“Since the announcement of the revival of Alpine in 2016, we have sought to anchor Alpine in a world of its own with artistic choices sometimes bold; in particular, we have called on young photographers, not necessarily specialists in the automotive world. With this photo contest, we wanted to continue this work of curation and develop new points of view on the Alpine A110.” Julien Geffard, Director of Alpine Marketing, says.
For more than a century, Leica has been accompanying the big names in photography. Mythical brand of the 50s, it inspires the younger generations today. The Leica Store, Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris is a place dedicated to the diversity of photographic and artistic looks.
L’ ÉVASION (THE ESCAPE) BY LETIZIA THE FUR
The laureate Letizia Le Fur with her enchanting and dreamlike world was selected by an exceptional jury from nearly 200 candidates. Her mission: expressing her vision of travel and escape through a personal artistic project.
“We have received an impressive number of very good applications and keeping only one has not been easy. There was a collective fondness for Letizia’s work, for her ability to enchant the real, leaving her tinged with a certain mystery, for her vision of nature and the automobile, for her taste for travel and her sense of contemplation and for the maturity of her style. ” Rémi Noël says, president of the jury, photographer, creative director, founder of Éditions Poetry Wanted and creator of the photographic cards This is Not a Map.
For this contest, Letizia Le Fur traveled the roads of the South of France starting from Marseille. On board of the A110, equipped with a Leica SL, she embarked on a four-day journey. A real challenge. An aesthetic and sporting challenge she has responded to with talent and intelligence. She delivers images in sumptuous colors, where the vegetal and the metallic blue of the Alpine answer each other with delicacy.
“We lived in total immersion in this project. The difficulty was that I was very often tempted to photograph the car from all angles. The color, the line, the shapes of the car seduced me and inspired me: playing with reflections, the car easily integrated into the landscape. Alpine for me is the South, and it’s a car that you want to see in wild and natural environments.” Letizia Le Fur explains.
THE “HIT THE ROAD” EXHIBITION
From December 7th, 2018 to January 12th, 2019, the photographs of his road-trip will be exhibited at the Photographic Space of the Leica Store Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, then in the Alpine Studios and Centers in Europe and at the Havas Gallery, the concept-gallery of the agency Havas Paris.
“I am very happy to have realized this Alpine & Leica Carte blanche, it is a support to creation which, in the carrier of a photographer, can represent a true springboard! and I am also very proud of exhibiting in the Leica Photographic Space.” Letizia Le Fur says.
About Letizia Le Fur
Born in 1973, it is at the School of Fine Arts that Letizia Le Fur first devotes herself to painting, forming her structural and profound sense of color and composition. Then, finding no answer to her aesthetic quest, she turned to photography, strongly encouraged by her teacher Valérie Belin. She develops since a personal work nourished by her different journeys and encounters, and by any form of poetry, both formal and sensory, which is offered to her sensitive eyes, that she stages “like a painting” and grabs with softness and depth. Letizia Le Fur is a modern photographer who offers her talents as much for exhibitions as for advertising or the press, and that can be followed with delight on Instagram: @letizialefur.

Alpine is back with the new A110, a sports car faithful to the timeless principles that made the success of Alpine – compactness, lightness and agility – with a promise: the pleasure of driving. alpinecars.com
