On June 15th the Gallery of Photography is delighted to offer a free creative, fun-packed and educational workshop experience specially designed for children and young people for Cruinniú na nÓg with tutor Darragh Shanahan.
Darkroom Magic – Photogram Photography gives small groups (max 6 per session) hands-on access to all the tools required for creating a photogram. A photogram is a painting made with light, in a photographic darkroom, they are made by placing objects of varying opacity on light-sensitive photographic paper. Each students photogram is a unique work of art, theirs to take home.
Before these unique works of art are taken away, they are digitally scanned and will be displayed on the Gallery’s website and social media platforms as an online exhibition.
The workshop is offered in two versions, each tailor designed for the interests and abilities of children in two age bands: 9-11 year olds and young teenagers (12-15 year olds). Places need to be booked.
