The Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City presents Africamericanos, an exhibition featuring close to 400 historical photographs from various archives as well as contemporary works by over seventy established artists, including a series of projects commissioned especially for the show.
The Centro de la Imagen hosts this show—the largest and most important of its kind this year, running from August 16 to November 4, 2018—in keeping with the United Nations’ proclamation of the International Decade for People of African Descent in 2015, and with Mexico’s commitment to this resolution. In 2019, Africamericanos will be shown at the Museo Amparo in the city of Puebla.
