Japanese Dreams
The series entitled “Japanese Dreams” represents a surreal and fanciful approach to revisiting the notion of the body. We see the anonymous body, as if uprooted, deformed, which plunges us into doubt concerning the very nature of what constitutes human flesh. This body, renewed thanks to the metamorphoses of my vision, affects our imagination by creating associations with the works of Hans Bellmer or those of Japanese photographers, but it remains completely authentic. The object of all the photographs, my body, its whiteness and its classic lines, make one think of a living sculpture. In these photos, which are often quite dark, we see it emerging like a landscape, but this enigmatic atmosphere aims to deepen the feeling of dream that invades us.
My other series – notably “La Brique”, “Domino” – arouse a paradoxical feeling, disturbing and at the same time comforting; a contemporary aesthetic manifests the canons of classical visual art.
The photos taken from my series of self-portraits are part of the female nude genre but with an original approach. The themes of the photos and the body itself are very recognizable, eloquent. It is an erotic art of the highest quality.
