Until November 5, 2023, L’Appartement – Espace Images Vevey will present four artists: Laia Abril, Augustin Lignier, Stefanie Moshammer and Jeff Wall.
The idea of an apartment evokes a familiar universe; the four artists of this seventh session of exhibitions present installations with sensitive links to this private environment.
In THE ROOMS, Stefanie Moshammer testifies that female alcoholism is a subject that is taboo that often takes place in the homes of people affected by this addiction.
In THE CORRIDOR, Laia Abril shows that the myths relating to menstruation spreading across a society have disastrous effects in the heart of homes.
In LE CINEMA, Augustin Lignier’s self-centered performances took place for two months behind closed doors in his student studio.
Finally, in LE SALON, Jeff Wall’s editorial proposal aims precisely to make his famous monumental works compatible with a domestic space.
L’Apartment – Espace Images Vevey, a place dedicated to contemporary photography, is located in the main hall of the CFF station in Vevey, on the 2nd floor, in the former housing of the railway workers. With around fifteen artist projects and exhibitions per year, this art space forms the link between two editions of the Images Vevey biennial and contributes to maintaining the Vevey, city of images label alive throughout the year.
