The Treppenhaus gallery in Erlangen is hosting the exhibition Triptyque by Louise Skira until April 15th. The young French photographer’s images, made during several different journeys, are taken from three series: Itinerance, Chambre Intérieure and Lazare.
She was born in 1985 in Paris, where she lives and works. After her studies , gaining a Masters in clinical psychology, Louise Skira has dedicated herself fully to film-based photography, which she has done since the age of sixteen, and to music.
The daughter of a painter, for her the practice of art was a completely natural form of language and discussion. It is now more than fourteen years since she chose the medium of photography, especially film-based photography, as her own form of expression.
Photography allows her to recreate, with an image, an inner, imaginative world that she would not have known how to externalise in any other way. She is an intermediary between an intimate, psychological world and visual reality.
