Olga Karlovac has an exhibition at the Embassy of Croatia in London. Shot in stark black and white, often through windows or in slow motion, her photographs take us on a poetic journey and evoke a sense of mystery not found in glossy travel brochures.
Rather than documenting the exact contours of her subjects, Karlovac captures the essence of a fleeting memory, like that of a dream fading the moment we wake up. Her photographs encourage us to slow down and employ all our senses to smell the rain, hear the footsteps and look beyond the shadows.
