I spend a lot of time in front of my computer. I’ve noticed that in certain light conditions I could superpose my reflection on the original image on the screen, in variable degrees of transparency. The two universes, the image from the screen and my own reflection come together into a completely new image, with a different meaning and interpretation.
Being curious about this discovery, I recreated the same light conditions and I photographed the screen of my computer. A game started when I realized I could choose a certain image and create a symbolic universe, therefore I used print screens from different videos to appropriate the iconic images of my music heros.
In my constant exploration of my daily routine I broadened my horizon and I started to pay more attention to my home. Trying to see differently this all too familiar space, that I often ignore because of its lack of sensational activities, I had the idea to have extraordinary beings, i.e. superheroes, living in my house. They settle in this intimate place, when I’m not there, when I am absent minded, when I work or when I study.
A home relates to one’s personality so I didn’t need to appear as a character in this series as the place itself represents me. In this series I try to emphasize the interaction between these nine superheroes and the spaces, the daily objects to which everyone can relate. My goal is to have a new approach, to question the plainness of this basic living space undergoing an extraordinary circumstance.
