In the last few years I have sent several applications to competitions, art fair, magazines, website and more. With many approvals, I also was uncounted with rejections.
As part of a creative process, I have made a small hand made book that speaks about the rejection side of art – which is a valuable, and important part of a young artist’s life and career.
This book is made with color swatches, laser engraved text and bound together as a fan book.
I think this subject of rejection, aseptically in the art world is something that isn’t spoken enough about. This book allows this discussion with some humor and dignity – rejection isn’t something of shame, it is just a part of the artists journey.
