In order to find new contacts in the world of modeling, young boys show their “snaps” (images taken from different angles, in underwear, without retouching) to the group “T ypical Man’s Modeling” of the Russian social network VK . The community of this network then begins to judge their physical criteria in what invariably becomes a trial whose result is for the majority negative: No career in modeling! In “Snapkins”, Maksim Finogeev decides to show those who have not even passed the public casting and who become excluded from this value system based on appearance. The snaps of these boys are printed on paper towels, thus combining their bodies with a disposable product. Here are the absurdity of the consumer society, the vulnerabilities of each and the strange desire to be part of the world of the beautiful, rich and famous.
Maksim Finogeev was born in 1987 in Ukraine, he lives and works in Odessa.
